Hourglass Fit is an all-natural weight loss supplement designed specifically for women. It makes sense, doesn’t it?

We all know that the bodies of men and women work in slightly different ways, so it stands to reason that when we take supplements to help promote weight loss, we should try one that is designed for our bodies.

But does Hourglass Fit work? That’s what we’re going to find out here. We’re going to take a look at the people behind Hourglass Fit, what it hopes to do, and the ingredients that use to give you this benefit. Finally, we will put it to the test for real, and find out if Hourglass Fit actually works.

I’m always excited to investigate new weight loss supplements. And while, as a man, this one is not designed for me, I have people close to me that have struggled much like I have to lose weight, and this could help them with that.

I was fortunate enough to have a volunteer to test it out for me (I didn’t think it would be a fair test if I used it myself!) and I will report her findings at the end of this Hourglass Fit review.

Hourglass Fit – Quick Verdict

PhenQ bottle

Hourglass fit is a perfectly safe supplement to use, but it is far from the best. They have put a lot of faith in one ingredient, Glucomannan, and much more research is needed to justify its inclusion – in fact, some studies have shown that it makes little difference to weight loss.

There are much better products than Hourglass Fit available – PhenQ is the perfect all-rounder with a highly intelligent and carefully crafted ingredients list. For real results, I’d fully recommend PhenQ to anyone.

What is Hourglass Fit?

Hourglass Fit bottle

Hourglass fit is a dietary supplement to help women lose weight. The word supplement is key, there – it is designed to work with the diet and exercise that is needed to help you lose weight. You cannot expect results if you don’t change any of your other habits when it comes to weight loss.

The fact that it is 100% natural is also important. There are many products available on the market that involve additives or chemicals that should only ever be used on the advice of a qualified medical professional.

At Arts Health & Wellbeing, we only ever look at products that we know are safe for people to take. If you are ever concerned about supplementing to support your weight loss and your health, make an appointment with your GP and they will be able to offer professional guidance unique to you.

Hourglass Fit is made by Roar Ambition, a dietary supplement specialist company who are based in Leeds, but have facilities in the US as well as the UK.

They have built up an excellent reputation in the industry, particularly on the back of their nootropic output – Hunter Focus being one of them, which I’m a big fan of.

They have been in business for over a decade now, and have firmly established themselves as industry-leaders. Although I have to admit, I have only ever tried their nootropic products. Will they be able to effectively transfer their knowledge and experience to weight loss? That’s what we’re here to find out.

What Are The Benefits Of Hourglass Fit?

It may seem an obvious question when talking about a weight loss supplement (surely the benefit is that you’ll lose weight?), but it isn’t all about burning calories or cutting fat.

Energy & weight

Now there’s a lot in this, so we may need to break it down. These two factors are linked to each other, but they are also very different. So to take ‘weight’ first, as that is surely the most important one, Hourglass Fit is designed to help speed up your metabolism.

Why is a faster metabolism good for weight loss? Well, metabolism is the process that our bodies use to convert calories into energy – the quicker it does this, the more calories we burn off and the less that our bodies store.

There is a caveat here though – even with a fast metabolism, we are only likely to lose weight if we are exercising regularly as well.

Fortunately, we can benefit from the opposite of a vicious circle. As you will have noticed in the previous paragraph, a faster metabolism means our bodies can convert more food into energy – so we have more energy to exercise with.

This might just mean having more energy to get our trainers on to begin with, but it will build up so that every training session we are working out that little bit harder.

So by speeding up our metabolism, our bodies can burn more fat and produce more energy with which we can burn more fat. It’s a win, win, win situation.

Calorie Control

Did you know that women generally eat more than men? It seems counter-intuitive, doesn’t it? I mean, women have a smaller recommended daily calorie intake than men (2,000 kcals compared to 2,500 kcals), so how come they end up eating more?

It’s simple, really – women require more nutrients than men. Their bodies are very different, and the female reproductive system puts an awful lot of strain in their body, so they need to eat the right things to balance that out.

For this reason, women are naturally inclined to suffer from cravings more often. Their bodies are telling them that they need food, so they have a sudden urge to eat. The problem is, of course, the things that the body craves are often wrapped inside of lots and lots of calories, meaning that losing weight is much more difficult.

It’s not fair, is it?

The people behind Hourglass Fit understand this, though, and part of the way that this product is specifically designed for women is the fact that some of the ingredients are there to act as an appetite suppressant. If you can control your appetite, it stands to reason you will be able to control your weight, so you can see the logic here.

Achieve the look

There is a huge focus on ‘the look’ in the marketing materials that accompany Hourglass Fit. The clue is in the name really, and the main tagline on their website is “Get a sexy, Hourglass Fit Physique”.

So that’s a clear focus for this product. Personally, I would see it as a by-product of the other benefits, and I would probably prefer the emphasis to be on how people feel rather than how they look; but I can certainly see how they might go hand in hand – looking great can certainly have a huge impact on how you feel.

This is more about getting toned than losing fat, though – and that is through having more strength and stamina during workouts, meaning you can push harder and achieve your body goals much sooner.

Being more positive & taking control

Hourglass Fit have included some of their ingredients specifically because they help your mood. Anyone who has ever tried to lose weight will know how important this is – you can’t drag yourself to exercise if you are feeling down and unmotivated.

Similarly, you are much likely to binge on unhealthy foods if you are feeling emotionally negative. So a positive frame of mind is absolutely critical to achieving your goals.

And while I’m mentioning goals – feeling better about yourself should be the motivation. I have had numerous battles with my weight over the years, and when I was younger, I just wanted to look better.

Now I realise that this is fleeting, and a short-term goal. I am only successful at losing weight when I just want to feel better about myself, so I think it is so important to promote that as a main benefit for any weight loss supplement.

Who Should Use Hourglass Fit?

Hourglass Fit, as we have covered extensively so far, is designed for women who want to lose a bit of weight. It’s probably a little bit more specific than that though, as it has the end goal of a particular body type – an Hourglass figure, as the name suggests. So if that is the look you are going for, this supplement is designed for you.

It’s free of synthetic additives, it’s suitable for vegans and vegetarians, and it’s also caffeine free (although whether this is a positive or a negative remains to be seen).

So Hourglass Fit is basically suitable for any woman who wants to lose weight. The only caveat is that if you are nursing or pregnant, you shouldn’t take this, and if you are on medication, you should speak to your doctor before you start.

Other than that, this is suitable for any woman over the age of 18.

Hourglass Fit Ingredients

So what ingredients do Roar Ambition use in Hourglass Fit to promote all of these incredible benefits? Let’s now take a look at each one individually to see why they have been included and what they might be able to do for you.

Glucomannan 3000mg

glucomannan plant close up

Unfortunately, we get off to a tricky start with the ingredients in Hourglass Fit. With a whopping 3000mg of glucomannan, this is comfortably the most prominent ingredient in Hourglass Fit – and I feel that they have put too many of their eggs in this basket.

Don’t get me wrong – there have been studies conducted that have suggested that glucomannan has a positive impact when you are trying to lose weight; but there have also been studies that contradict this.

While I’m not saying that it won’t work for you, I am saying that I don’t think there is enough evidence here to base the majority of a supplement on it.

The theory is that glucomannan works in three ways – it helps to suppress our appetite, it helps remove bad cholesterol, and it helps to feed the friendly bacteria in our guts, which helps with our digestive process.

There is really sound science behind all of this, but the extent to which it can help us lose weight still needs more research in my opinion.

5-HTP 150mg

Extracted from the griffonia simplicifolia seed, 5-HTP is an amino acid that is also naturally occurring within our bodies. It’s main use for us is in the production of serotonin, sometimes known as the happy hormone.

I know what you’re thinking – how does that help me lose weight? Well, studies have shown that 5-HTP has helped people lose weight, and as we discussed earlier, something we have a lapse in our diets when we feel a bit down. By keeping positive, we can hopefully prevent this from happening.

Capsimax 100mg

I’m on to more familiar footing now. I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a weight loss supplement that hasn’t contained Capsimax. It is a form of cayenne pepper extract, and it has been clinically proven to aid weight loss.

The way it works is this: the capsaicinoids in Capsimax will stimulate your metabolism, which helps you burn calories faster, and as a result, you’ll lose weight.

It is also thought to help suppress hunger, but I would want more research done on that front before I make any concrete conclusions. Regardless, Capsimax is a great ingredient for any weight loss supplement.

Zinc 8mg

Zinc often gets overlooked when it comes to supplementation, perhaps because it’s seen as a bit of a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ sort of supplement. However, it’s good to see it included here as vital for our general health.

It works in a number of areas – it’s great for our immunity, it helps remove cholesterol and it is related to good heart health. If you’re struggling with these, you are much less likely to be in a position to lose weight.

The extent to which it actively aids weight loss is a bit more disputed. It has been clinically proven to help obese patients lose weight, but the extent to which it can help people that are generally healthy and just want to shift a bit of weight hasn’t really been assessed.

Having enough zinc in your diet will generally help your overall health, though.

Black Pepper Extract 5mg

Black pepper is great for our health, and black pepper tea has been used to treat many ailments over the centuries – one being obesity.

The theory is that black pepper contains piperine, which has been known to help speed up our metabolism, which as we have seen can aid weight loss.

Chromium 125µg

Chromium is another popular and justified ingredient in weight loss supplements. Again, it’s all down to its impact on our metabolism, converting carbohydrates into energy to make sure we store less fat. Less fat means less weight.

Chromium also plays a role in maintaining healthy levels of glucose, which helps regulate our energy levels. You’ll feel fewer of those crashes that can obliterate your weight loss targets.

Vitamins B2, B6 & B12

While all the B vitamins are important to living a healthy life, these three (and vitamin B12 in particular) can help with weight loss. This trio are often found in weight loss supplements for the efficacy.

As you may have guessed, it all comes down to metabolism. All three of these vitamins are essential to a healthy metabolic process. Vitamin B12, though, also has been proven to help fight depression and fatigue – two major hurdles when it comes to weight loss.

Whether you decide to go with Hourglass Fit or not as your weight loss supplement of choice, I recommend you supplement with B vitamins.

How To Take Hourglass Fit

It’s quite a big commitment to take Hourglass Fit! You are advised to take four a day – one before each meal (ideally half an hour before), and an extra one at some point of your choosing.

They are easy to swallow, but it’s quite an inconvenience, especially in comparison to most other weight loss supplements.

My Hourglass Fit Review

For this review, I managed to enlist the help of a female friend who very kindly offered to help me test this product.

She had recently told me that she was making a concerted effort to lose a bit of weight – had signed up to a few classes at the gym and was taking a bit more care over what she ate. When I mentioned Hourglass Fit, she was keen to give it a go. This was her conclusion following her 30-day trial period:

“I really wanted to be able to tell you that Hourglass Fit was incredible – but I’ve got to be honest, I didn’t really notice much difference between before and after I started taking it.

Basically, I had been going to the gym and eating better for a few weeks prior to taking Hourglass Fit, and I was really happy with the progress. You always want a bit more though, don’t you? So I thought Hourglass Fit might speed things up.

In the first week of taking it I thought I felt something – like I had a bit more of a spring in my step, but this fizzled out pretty quickly.

I still find getting to the gym really hard – just getting that motivation to get up and get going. Once I’m there I’m okay, but it’s that initial push that I struggle with – I didn’t really feel that Hourglass Fit had any impact on that.

I appreciate that the success of a weight supplement starts with me – but I have tried other supplements that worked more on providing a buzz. Perhaps it’s the lack of caffeine. I feel I felt that lethargy we hate when we’re in a calorie deficit, and Hourglass Fit did little to help this.

And I still have moments when I want to eat everything in the house! That hasn’t gone away.

Maybe Hourglass Fit isn’t designed for people like me – I think, having made that initial effort by myself, I wanted to feel supercharged and unstoppable, but that never came. In truth, it’s been difficult to really notice any impact it has had on me at all, sadly.”

Conclusion

PhenQ with capsules

It would be wrong to base this entire review on the experience of my friend – not every supplement will be perfectly suited to every person.

However, I am concerned about the ingredient stack. The amount of glucomannan compared to anything else is putting a lot of faith in an ingredient that has mixed results from clinical trials.

While there are some really good ingredients included, I think the focus on glucomannan is misjudged.

There are better weight loss supplements to buy out there – ones that have a more rounded ingredient stack and focus on the mental side of losing weight as much as the physical. PhenQ is on another level compared to Hourglass Fit. It does contain caffeine, but it really does work thanks to an entire army of scientifically proven ingredients that tackle every aspect of a challenging weight loss journey.

Your money would certainly be much better spent on PhenQ than it would be here, on Hourglass Fit.
