Dynamix first year evaluation

Dynamix is a music and health programme developed and delivered by Sound It Out to four Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) wards at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Dynamix provides access to practical music making for children and young people experiencing mental health conditions. The pilot project involved young inpatients, some of whom had been resident for up to one year. The success of this activity led to the development of an extended, larger project funded by Comic Relief running from 2010 – 2013.

Sound It Out is working with Community Health CIC to externally evaluate this project over the three years in terms of assessing the positive impact of participatory music activities in a CAMHS context. The first year report will be published in December. To request a copy of the report contact Amelia Burr at Sound It Out on ameliaburr@sounditout.co.uk or 0121 7729964.
