MUSEUMS AND HEALTH

On 29th February 2016 there is a round table on Museums and Health to be chaired by Lord Lupton, Trustee of the British Museum. The round table brings together practitioners, service users, service managers and academics to share their knowledge and experience with parliamentarians in order to inform policy recommendations for the APPG Inquiry into Arts, Health and Wellbeing. There will be a short presentation by Esme Ward, Head of Learning and Engagement at the Whitworth and Manchester Museum, Jason Spruce, a stroke survivor, and Anne Kearton, an Occupational Therapist at Trafford Hospital, followed by a discussion with a number of participants including: David Anderson, Director General of Amgueddfa Cymru, the National Museum of Wales; Professor Helen Chatterjee, Head of Research and Teaching at UCL Public and Cultural Engagement; Dr Mark O’Neill, Director of Research and Policy, Glasgow Life; and Victoria Northwood, Head of Archives and Museum at the Museum of the Mind.
